Fats Domino v. Chubby Checker

Antoine ‘Fats’ Domino is an R&B and rock and roll pianist and singer from New Orleans, Louisiana. Among his hits are “Blueberry Hill”, “Ain’t That a Shame”, “My Blue Heaven”, and “I’m Walkin’”.

Chubby Checker (né Ernest Evans) is best known for his cover of “The Twist”, released in 1960. His sobriquet was created by Barbara Mallery, Dick Clark’s wife, as a play on Fats Domino’s name. “The Twist” is the only song to hit number one on two occasions more than a year apart.
