hot dog v. frankfurter v. wiener

Image courtesy of UniqueDaily.com. Hot dog, frankfurter, and wiener are synonymous terms for a smoked, seasoned, precooked beef and pork sausage served in a bun. Several cities can lay claim to inventing the food, so they are alternately called franks, after Frankfurt, Germany, and wieners, from Vienna (German: Wien), Austria.
