muffin v. cupcake

Muffins are dense, sweet or savory quick breads eaten with breakfast or tea. They’re not usually frosted, but may be glazed. Muffins often contain fruit or nuts.

Cupcakes are light, moist, small cakes that are usually prepared with frosting on top. Cupcakes are sweeter than muffins, and are consumed as a dessert.
