noodles v. pasta

Noodles consist of unleavened dough formed into one of numerous shapes and cooked in boiling water or broth. Wheat, buckwheat, rice, beans, potatoes, and other foods may serve as the basis for noodle dough. Pasta is a type of noodle made from wheat (usually durum wheat semolina) or buckwheat flour. Pasta is most strongly associated with Italian cuisine, but noodles in one form or another are consumed throughout the world.
