ottoman v. hassock

An ottoman is a backless, armless upholstered seat or bench that can be used as a stool, footstool, or improvised coffee table. Ottomans may have internal storage compartments. While no hard distinction can be drawn between an ottoman and a hassock, hassocks are usually smaller, without internal storage or visible legs.
