strudel v. streusel

Strudel (German for ‘whirlpool’) is a sweet or savory baked pastry made of fruit, cheese, or other fillings rolled in many thin layers of dough. Strudel is often served with cream.

Streusel (German for ‘something sprinkled’) is a crumb topping for breads, cakes, and muffins. It is made of flour, sugar, butter, and sometimes cinnamon, other spices, and chopped nuts.
